We have the power to create an impact, one meal at a time.

In the U.S., more than 1 in 6 children don’t know where their next meal is coming from and often go to bed hungry. No child, regardless of age, should be worried about hunger.

The cost per meal to feed
a family of 6 is only

$2.10

Feeding a child breakfast, lunch, and dinner for an entire month is only

$31

Our communities need us.

Let’s feed our neighbors.

The Brainerd Lakes Outreach Program is a compassionate humanitarian organization dedicated to providing essential food assistance.

We have an unwavering mission of feeding our Minnesota neighbors. Located in the Brainerd Lakes area (Nisswa), our vision is that 80-90% of the meals we package will be distributed within a 60-80 mile radius of Nisswa. The remaining 10-20% can be distributed to greater Minnesota, used for disaster relief and/or distributed internationally.

meals packed since 2012

We package 10 different meals that are nutrient dense, including protein, vitamins, and minerals. They only require 3-8 cups of boiling water, and each packet contains 6 servings.

Final renovations are in progress in our lobby area and pack room. We are so thankful to Danny Goerges and Tuck of All Trades - Handyman for working with us on these projects.

*we’ve sanded and refinished our concrete floors
*we removed cabinets
*we’ve widened doorways
*we’ve painted walls
*we are installing a handwashing station that can accommodate 3 people washing hands at the same time
*new trim
*new baseboard

We had the duct work cleaned by Brady at Optimum Cleaning in Pequot…. Wow that spy dust adds up!

We will be ready to welcome volunteers back to the building in early March.

Progress made - no donor dollars used - grants and private donations for the fix up! Win-win!

Have we mentioned how much we love our beautiful community that we get to call home base for the charity?

Last weekend was the Nisswa Jubilee. Our Community Coordinator, Tina Foster served as the Grand Marshal for the parade.

Tina has spent many years being the behind the scenes coordinator for this event.

This year, the reigns got moved to the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce who did an outstanding job with the event.

To thank Tina for her time, the Chamber chose her to be the Grand Marshal.
